This biographical paper presents an analysis of three musical pieces from the 1960s, which have the structure – and terminological evidence – of “variations”, remarkable in the production of an outstanding guitar player who belongs to a distinguished generation of the 1950s and 60s in Coimbra and whose artistic work endures until today.
