Henut-taui : uma dama do antigo Egipto
Luís Manuel de Araújo
Documento (.pdf)
AbstractHenut-tawy, daughter of the Pharaoh Smendes, was an Egyptian lady who lived in the 21st dynasty during the first half of the 10th century B.C. and married Pinedjem I, High Priest of Amon, who exercised his pontificate in Thebes (1070-1055 B. C.). She was very important at that time, according to the high titles found on several funerary objects and in other documents. A sarcophagus and several papyri survived from her tomb, not to mention blue faience statuettes which are today kept in several museums. These materials reveal the high social status of Henut-tawy, showing evidence of important titles, some royal and others of a religious nature. Such facts attest to the positions which a woman of high society could achieve in the New Empire and in the Third Intermediate Period.
