#Abstract
The present poster was developed through the mater´s degree in Museology. This research aims the study of filigree in the council of Gondomar, by means of recovery, analysis and interpretation of oral testimonies of filigree artisans. Analyzing the historic and cultural tradition of working the gold in Northeast Iberia and, in concrete, in the Litoral Douro province, we explore its technical and symbolic character: its feature of popular art representative of national identity, in one hand, and its symbolic meaning in traditional wearing, on the other hand. Considering the urgency of safeguarding this art, as it faces a new historic setting and the disappearance of its direct actors, it is of most importance to meet the last guardians of this knowledge. In this way we alert for the need of value a intangible heritage regarding a future museum, arguing the implication of several strategies in the strengthening of social and cultural identity in the community and council of Gondomar.
