#Abstract
This article presents the methodology and initial results of exploratory observation at the Museum of the Portuguese Language in order to identify design elements contained in the exhibition space that interfere with or influence the public to visit the museum. In this first approach was carried out monitoring visits on the second floor of the museum in order to observe their relationship with the space and its elements. This study is part of the project master's thesis in design developed at the SENAC Centre University, whose goal is to analyze the influence of postmodern concepts in contemporary design exhibition in museums and cultural centers, considering the Museology as a factor in the transformation of society through communication and preservation of heritage. Thus, the work considers the relationship between visitors and the different elements used in various exhibitions, such as interactive audio-visual resources, a form of social development that occurs through the proposed museum to the visitor through the exhibition design. Therefore, there will be a case study of the Portuguese Language Museum, located in São Paulo (Brazil), which also has a collection as intangible heritage, language, also has several conceptual elements discussed by the authors to address the issue postmodern, such as interactive totems on languages that have resulted or were influenced by portuguese language.
