#Abstract
Restoration is currently assumed as a discipline focused on the conservation of objects that are valuable to different social groups, objects that are recreated symbolically in the collective imaginary as referents of identity. Using this idea as the underlying argument, in 2006 the ECRO1 and the ITESO2 undertook an exposition project denominated “The work of conserving memory: the restoration of Cultural Heritage”. Through the exposition of fully and partially restored objects, it was intended to demonstrate the complexity of working with cultural property. Based in the expositive project, this presentation will offer a critical review on the integration experience of two contiguous disciplines – Museology and Restoration- facing a common object: cultural heritage.
