#Abstract
Is the museum an open or a closed door to the communities? Will the museum serve as a bridge between local and global culture? What type of bridge? Is it more than a bridge? How museums understand the community and how communities understand museums? There are many ways to work in museums, by opening themselves to the community and or by letting the community to share the planning of the museum programmes. The museum is a space for open dialogue but the type of dialogue between communities and museums can be different from institution to institution. This paper is about memories; meetings and dialogues with museums, reports of dialogic experiences between museums and communities to show what could be the ideal museum programme, a place of refuge and redemption, conversation and learning where the local culture and the culture global interpenetrate.
