Desafios na formação do museólogo frente à demanda social dos museus da região amazônica

AbstractThe communication approaches the process of creation, evaluation and reorganization of the Pedagogical Project of the Museology Course of the Federal University of Pará, considering the importance of qualified training for the museologist in the Northern area of Brazil. The approach suggests meeting the demands resulting from the social changes of the local people. In addition, it deals with the training of the museologist and his relationship with the policies connected to memory presented as the National Policy of Museums. This results in training and qualification projects in the museological and profesional field, referred to the political memory outlined in the narratives and the systems of values institutionalized in the Political-Pedagogical Projects of the Museology Courses, recently created in the higher education institutions of the country. The Museology Course of the FUPA, developed on the basis of this national situation, currently has 56 students and it is the first museologists training course in the northern area and the fourteenth in the recent history of Brazil. In order to redesign the curricular project, an evaluation and reorganizing commission was created, made up of the group of teachers of the Museology Course, a representative acting as intermediary and technical assistance in the specific area of museology. An ad hoc commission outlined the basic guidelines for the changes needed to redesign the Course, especially as regards the reformulation of the amount of hours for the specific disciplines of the museological field. Among the major topics discussed with the teachers of FUPA we can mention the importance of the creation of a Museology Course in the Northern area of the country, whose curricular profile highlights certain perspectives. In particular, new challenges were introduced in order to allow the interrelationship between museology, heritage and the sustainable development of the Amazon region concerning the future performance of the museologist in view of the useums of the Amazon region and the ethical commitment of the community.
