Museu de rua, inclusão & harmonia social : reflexões em torno de uma metodologia para museus comunitários
Ana Maria Dalla Zen
Documento (.pdf)
AbstractThis paper reflects on the techniques of street museums and itinerant exhibitions held in the open air, created and managed by the same community. It relates the experience in the neighborhood Lomba do Pinheiro, a peripheral region on the outskirts of Porto Alegre, RS, in the Lomba do Pinheiro Program: Memory, Information and Citizenship. It analyzes the theoretical foundations of social museology, ecomuseums and community museums as references to create conditions for inclusion and social harmony in needy communities. It presents a technology derived from the use of recyclable materials for documenting the personal and collective memories. Through oral and documentary analysis techniques, it summarizes the proposed processes for people to reflect upon their own personal memories. It discusses the role of recreations, describing and enriching individual narratives. It supports the contribution of the technique for the recovery of social memory, the value of individual self-esteem and the creation of the sense of belonging, associated with the territory. Referring to the community’s commitment, it concludes that the outcome of the proposal has far exceeded the initial objectives. It highlights that the street museum is a pedagogical reference in educational activities within community museums, as it encourages creativity through expography, use of materials and ways of communication. By encouraging participatory planning and integration between the different and complex social groups that constitute a community on the outskirts, the museum becomes a strategic factor of inclusion and social harmony. Key words: street museums; community museums; cultural activities in museums; museums and social change.
