Abordagens do museu como ato criativo : museu de arte de São Paulo gênese e lugar na museologia brasileira

AbstractThe paper refers to the research developed as a final monographic work, requisite to the Graduation in Museology, at the School of Museology, Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro - UNIRIO. Its object of study is MASP - the Museum of Art of São Paulo, Brazil. The research approaches the contribution of the three individuals who created the museum. It investigates the role of Assis Chateaubriand, mentor and articulator of MASP and of the main communication media in the country - the press, museums and television - It comments how such media were articulated to sum up the financial resources necessary to the development of the museum collections. It analyzes the conception of MASP as from its genesis, the Pedagogic Collection of Western European Art, curated by Pietro Maria Bardi in a very favorable economic moment of the post-war times, in 1945 and explains that the organization of such collection was due to his competence and knowledge of the arts. It also approaches the singular creative process developed by the architect Lina Bo Bardi in the conception of the building of the museum, at Avenida Paulista, emphasizing the insertion of MASP in the Cultural Development Plan of the city of São Paulo, as well as the influences received by Lina, which gave origin to a very particular case in Museology - the development of an original, creative and exclusive experimental process for the projects of education and of the museum building. Finally, it presents the product of this new museographic conception - the crystal rack - used as support and as pedagogic instrument in the permanent exhibitions of MASP. Key words: Museum.
