#Abstract
This article takes a look at a series of Inquisition processes concerning cases of convicts during the 16th and 17th centuries. In doing so, it explores the possibilities that these documentation opens to the analysis of reading practices (mostly access to book reading) in Inquisition prisions and the relationship among those practices and the social status of the convict. Finally, the article analyzes the different forms and meanings of reading under such circumstances.
