#Abstract
The author attempts to examine, through an analysis of the scenes of Siegfried's Wooing of Kriemhild, the role of minne in the Nibelungenlied; he concludes that courtly love does not accord well with some aspects of the poem since it is still heavily influenced by its pre-courtly source material.
