#Abstract
The insignia of Ferreira was donated to the Order of Santiago in 1234, a year after being conquered from the Moors. It had a castle but it lacked a parish church which would come to be built only at the beginning of the 16th century by João de Sousa. The initial features were lost in time, but we will attempt to recover its structure through the visitations of 1510 and 1534.
