#Abstract
This paper describes the monumental Church of the Monastery of S. Miguel de Refojos, located in Cabeceiras de Basto. The architect responsible for this magnificent building, built between 1755 and 1766, was probably André Soares, from Braga. This church, with its curious cupola, older than one found in the Basilica da Estrela in Lisbon, should be considered and included diachronically within the history of the ancient Benedictine monastery. Furthermore, the recent intervention by the DGEMN has revived and highlighted the beauty of this monumental jewel.
