#Abstract
This article is intended as a vindication of the municipal museum as an important local cultural policy, while purporting to be a much more profound contribution to the knowledge of museum institutions managed by a Spanish consistory. First, it makes a theoretical approach to the mechanisms of interaction between politics and culture, that mark the municipal's museum and, secondly, he takes a more detailed analysis of the Municipal Museum Network of Murcia.
