#Abstract
In 1852 Portugal was created in the industrial education, by resolution of the Ministério das Obras Públicas Comércio e Indústria, under leadership of António Maria de Fontes Pereira de Melo (1819 -1887), installing Industrial Institute in Lisbon and the Industrial School in Porto. Associate and this new type of teaching, which was intended to be predominantly practical, there were important establishments teaching assistants, which contributed greatly to the development of science in our country. One was the museum, who unwittingly laid the foundations for the development of science museums. Between successes and failures of these establishments were subsisting during the XIX century, and today is still a landmark at museum
