#Abstract
The central theme of this inquiry focuses in general, on the conceptualization and (re)configuration of the museums in contemporaneity. The time frame of analysis is between 1970 and 2010, focusing not only on the significant changes that occurred in the museological field, but also on the conceptual insights that motivated or were held from this mutation. It is also proposed to analyze some of the theoretical problems of post-modernity by linking this study of the museological institutions with issues of power, productions, representations and cultural consumption in the contemporary societies.
