#Abstract
In the information technology era, the construction of thesauri became influential by creating controlled vocabularies for indexing or tagging cultural heritage, thus building bridges between institutions, professionals from different areas and general public. Their complex organization makes them a challenging task which can be even harder depending on the themes included and the languages involved. From this perspective the AAT - Art & Architecture Thesaurus served as a model in order to be adapted to the Portuguese cultural reality.
