Ciência e tecnologia : mensagem e meio na prática museológica
Sandra Santos
File (.pdf)
AbstractScience is omnipresente, it is written in the incessant quest for knowledge that guides many of the evolutionary paths of Humankind. Science museums are guardians of an evolutionary stratigraphy that overpasses time and space to compile past achievements and foresee future discoveries. Moved by the value of those testimonies of human potential and the immeasurable forces and manifestations of Nature, science museums exist so that those heritage values be prolonged in time, as to assert themselves in the cumulative construction of Knowledge. Today’s museums “drink” from that evolution and apply it to their own ways of communicating. The rise of new technologies has contributed for the birth of new universes of creative possibilities within the languages and communication in museums. And in those possibilities we are able to travel beyond what was once confined, tarring down boundaries and taking us close to the elemental message of realities, concepts and objects.
