AbstractDuring the Observatory Project of the Educational Areas of Priority Intervention (FSE/83553/2008), supported by the Foundation for Science and Technology, an association between the Miragaia School in Porto and the National Museum of Soares dos Reis in the same city is guaranteed. Not only the resources of the schools and the museums are analyzed, but also the individualities of the “community involved” (a category that has been very frequently mythicised and considered indispensable) as a legitimating rhetoric that reintroduces in both institutions (schools and museums) a new aura, based on the emerging constellations of the discourse and practices redefining their mission, such as the potential and profitable meeting between formal education and the occasions of evasion, be it from the model whose centre is the school or from the museum-case paradigm, resulting in a process of acquisition and/or activation of public and aesthetic provisions, in a triple and risky game of putative change among the school, the museum and the very own city.
