#Abstract
The Torres Novas’ Local Museum dedicates a part of its exhibitive space to Carlos Reis (1862-1940), establishing a museological core which brings together some of the most important artistic creations of this artist and others not so divulged but also important in the general context of his work since they have some specifications. This article presents the main results of a study made about that artistic creations which must be understood without forgeting the social-cultural context of the “naturalistic taste” which ruled in Portugal by the end of the XIX century and in the beginning of the XX century.
