#Abstract
Organizational culture, considered one of the most widely covered issues in the field of Sociology of Organizations, suffers, however, from a deficit of reflection regarding it´s theoretical-disciplinary roots. In spite of numerous incursions on the subject of it´s origins and historical evolution, one has no knowledge of any focused studies centered on the conditions that enabled the emergence of this issue or on the debate concerning the dominant theoretical meanings on an international scale. The main objective of this article resides in the reconstitution of genealogical senses of organizational culture through the mobilization of contributions made by the percursors and founding authors of this research object. More than just identify the birthright of the concept of organizational culture, particular attention was given to the debate surrounding the impact that various factors have exerted on it´s theoretical and scientific development.
