#Abstract
Several studies conducted on the problems associated with sedentary lifestyle are focused on the need for moderate physical exercise, but do not appeal to younger populations because they are aimed at physical activity devoid of the most valued aspects by this population. The purpose of this study is to analyze the city of Oporto by direct observation of informal sports practitioners, through the use of interviews, mapping of the city's places used, and the use of photography as a complementary means of data collection. Thus, it is possible to understand what are the characteristics that make an urban space suitable for informal sporting activities, as well as examine how these spaces are distributed throughout the city, describing the areas of highest concentration in order to understand the production and appropriation space through alternative urban sports.
