#Abstract
As globalized cities become the harbors of super-diversity, it has proved ever more important to reflect on aspects associated with cultural policies, directly or indirectly related to international migrations. Starting from a sociological application of the multi-sited ethnography methodology, we compare two intercultural events in different territories of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, seeking to identify differences and similarities in the way the intercultural is produced. We conclude that although interculturality has become part and parcel of the institutional repertoires, it is the greater or lesser affinity with a particular ideology of the urban and to urbanistic strategies of the creative city what becomes more relevant. Conversely, when this link is weaker, the result is the inadequate conjunction between a territory and the worldly practices of the contact zones.
