#Abstract
In this paper we intend to contribute to a deeper understanding of the way innovation, economic growth and structural change are interrelated. We review some recent literature on this subject, concluding that although is somewhat established that economic growth is a process of structural change (defined as the change over time in the relative importance of different sectors or industries), there exists relatively few attempts to analyse theoretically or empirically this relationship. In this sense, we believe that this is a very promising field for future research.
