#Abstract
This work sums up the ceremonies of the Holy Thursday pageant held in Braga, as well as other devotions connected with lent term carried out by the Brotherhood of Mercy. A few alterations introduced throughout the times either permantly or occasionally, reveal the social and cultural behaviour most characteristic of the time in addition to showing the religious and political influences exerted by the establishment. When the processions callin on God’s help for the improvement of weather conditions have taken place in Braga, the above mentionaed Brotherhood of Mercy used to work together with the Cathedral’s College of Canons in carrying out those devotional events.
