#Abstract
The author presents a translation into Portuguese of the evangelical episode of the Prayer of Jesus Christ in Gethsemane, published in August 1513, comparing it with another Portuguese translation, printed a little earlier, in March of the same year, with a Castilian translation, c. 1493, and with the original Latin text (in Monotessaron by Jean Gerson). Then, the woodcut printings that illustrate both the Castilian edition and the Portuguese ones are analysed, in an attempt to determine their origin.
