#Abstract
Discussed in this article, which is the first part of a broader study, the presence and treatment of childhood of Jesus in the literary production of the Spanish Middle Ages, from the twelfth to the fourteenth century. We tried to gather the largest possible number of texts belonging to different genres of our medieval literature narrating or refer to passages in the childhood of Jesus and the Bible or the apocryphal gospels are the sources. Our work is organized for centuries, although the conclusions are clear differences in the treatment of this issue for centuries and genres.
