Palmerim de Inglaterra : una encrucijada intertextual
Mª Carmen Marín Pina
File (.pdf)
AbstractAlthough Palmeirim de Inglaterra (Palmerin of England) gives continuity to the Spanish series of Palmerin romances, Francisco de Morais creates rich and complex intertextual relations in this work, with clear references to the Amadisian and the Arthurian traditions. Through different spaces, Morais recovers the two wise women, Urganda the Unknown and Melia, brings to light previously unknown information about their lives and, to some extent, continues their adventures. Apart from the first five books of the Amadis de Gaula series mentioned explicitly, the little known Lisuarte de Grecia by Juan Díaz also comes up as one of his sources of inspiration.
