#Abstract
This article focuses on the recovery of the only text by Francisco de Moraes that was believed to be mis-sing, according to the Portuguese bibliographic tradition. Additionally, its contents help us to understand the author’s view of the successful events that occurred in the French court during the first half of 1541, at a time when the author of Palmeirim was assistant to the ambassador Francisco de Noronha. This discovery sheds new light on the origin of several episodes narrated in the finest 16th-century book of chivalry, the Palmeirim de Inglaterra.
