Francisco Gutiérrez Carbajo, Narrative and dramatic texts on the Spanish Civil War and their screen adaptations In the ?rst place, this work studies the phenomenon of adaptation, with all its semiotic implications and with a brief reference to several theories about these methods. Next some narrative and dramatic historical texts are analysed, focused on the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), selecting those that are most representative due to their thematic subjects and their formal and expressive devices.
