#Abstract
The present paper analyses from different angles the Obieiço?s contra esta Grammatica, & repostas a ellas, published as an appendix of the Verdadeira grammatica latina para se bem saber em breve tempo, scritta na lingua portuguesa com exemplos na latina (Lisboa, 1615), both written by Amaro de Roboredo. The opuscule aims to refute the predictable criticisms to his method and doctrinal foundation, in a pedagogic and grammatical context characterized by the appearance in Portugal and Spain of the corrected editions of Manuel Alvares’ and Antonio de Nebrija’s treatises on grammar.
