#Abstract
The present essay intends to prove that Piaget is an epistemologist in his ultimate object and a psychologist by necessity. Thus, its object is to point out that Piaget finds in the analyses of children's thought the conditions for the study of the development of knowledge and so allows him to escape a philosophical epistemology. It also intends to show that, though he avoids the philosophical view, the theoretical dimension of his thought is even richer in terms of contents than the experimental or empiric one. Furthermore, it tries to point out a number of ways to prove the thesis that Pi'aget is an epistemologist by vocation and a psychologist by necessity.
