#Abstract
Port wine is the main reason why the Historic Centre of Vila Nova de Gaia is visited. The Port Wine sellers receive around half million visitors per year. They were opened to tourism exploration in 1913. Since 1982, when compared to other kinds of establishments this área has a high proportion and distribution of establishments connected to the tourism industry. This investigation allowed to verify an anticipation of the private dealers (Port wine companies and establishment owners) from the public services regarding the exploration of tourism/leisure in Vila Nova de Gaia's Historie Centre.
