Raul Brandão and Maria Angelina Brandão's Portugal Pequinino is generally under- estimated in the context of Brandâo's work. In this article the author attempts to reread this work in the light of a modernity which has gone unnoticed, emphasizing a certain number of aspects which make this work a(n) (ignored) classic of Portuguese children's literature.
