#Abstract
The traditional relationship between Palaeography, Diplomatics and Archival Science is discussed as well as the inclusion of the first two of them into the Curso de Bibliotecário-Arquivista, established in 1887. During this course some changes occurred and the insertion of Palaeography and Diplomatics into the various curricula has been also modified until 1982, when appeared a new training model for librarians and archivists. The need of these two areas in the new curricula is also discussed, although in a completely different perspective.
