Linguística] Aims and Scope

Linguística. Revista de Estudos Linguísticos da Universidade do Porto was created in 2006 as a means of publication and debate in the area of Linguistics. The journal accepts papers on any linguistic topic. Papers from either fundamental or applied research will equally be considered for publication, no matter the theoretical background of the submitted studies.

Ethic code

Submitted papers must be previously unpublished and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, though revised versions or translations of previously published texts can be exceptionally admitted as candidates for publication. The list of authors should reflect who really did the work and the text should preferably identify which co-authors are responsible for specific parts of the work.
All submissions are transmitted to at least two anonymous referees. The Board of the journal expects that all ethical and deontological procedures in use in scientific publications be scrupulously followed in the manuscripts submitted for evaluation, and reserves the right to reject outright works which might raise substantial doubts as to compliance with the most basic national and international standards in this field. As regards the use of language data or other materials involving human participants, the journal default standards are the same as for the American Psychological Association, in combination with the applicable rules of law in Portugal and in the European Union. The Journal can ask the authors of such work to be shown all pieces of evidence of compliance with international ethical and deontological rules, namely the authorization of the ethics committees of their home institutions to carry out the studies that are on the basis of submitted papers.
