#Abstract
How are science and technique represented in a museological context? Which are the communication models that guide the relationship between scientific and technical representations and the public, in a museum context? These are the questions behind the present article. To answer them, a critical analysis of the musealization process of several collections and buildings, related with the printing press area, both in a portuguese and in an international context, were presented, namely: The Portuguese Printing Press Museum (Porto), Fafe Printing Press Museum, Madeira Printing Press Museum, Gutenberg Museum (Mainz, Germany), Plantin- Moretus Museum (Antwerp, Belgium), German Technological Museum (Berlin) and Arts and Crafts Museum (Paris, France). The case studies were selected according to a double criteria of conceptual pertinence and varied typification.
