#Abstract
This article recounts the experience of working in Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture, where I collaborated in three temporary exhibitions of art and architecture programming, giving particular emphasis to an architecture exhibition. The article focuses only on part of its theoretical content, presenting a research and reflection on exhibiting architecture, as a means of promoting and/or validating architecture itself, contextualizing that process in terms of conception, significance and acceptance. It is assumed the difficulty created by the absence of the object on display as the central point of the investigation, and, as so, the search for its substitutes.
