#Abstract
Globalization is supported by flows and movement of people, ideas and different varieties of capital that can be territorialized with visible results in the shaping process of landscapes. Following this dynamic process, landscapes are not homogeneous, stable and closed units. Europe and its landscape expressions, those that are building inside this continent, but also those located in other regions of the world, is still an important protagonist of this globalization. In fact, Europe remains a strong iconic reference. In leisure spaces and immigration geographies, in new residential quartiers but also in consumption and hedonist territories, Europe is a recurrent simulated model. However, this European continent is usually seen by a traditionalist, fragmented and stereotyped procedure. In this sense, landscape can be a good way to read and interpret the contradictions of postmodernity. As exposed in the following text, contemporary landscapes are hybrid realities difficult to classify. This work aims to prove that still remains a stereotypical view of an iconic Europe as a reference in different parts of the globe. In methodological terms, the research is achieved by the observation and comparison of different landscapes on a global scale, with a special focus on symbolic elements that identify them. This research confirmed that Europe continues to maintain a strong identity capital, which is copied by a global dynamic that requires the icons of this old continent.
