#Abstract
The relevance of studies based on institutional theory and institutional change lead to a series of general objectives that needed to be reached in this research, held in 2012, from the gender perspective. The first objective was to measure the institutional context variables that affect the implementation of social responsible practices. The second objective was to contribute to the existing institutional theory and to the diffusion of socially responsible practices. This study targeted three, four and five star hotels in the Eurorregion (Galicia and Northern of Portugal). The informants were the managers of the hotels, one for each hotel surveyed. A questionnaire was designed based on the following information: the characteristics of the object of study, the informants, the institutional pillars and corporate social responsibility indicators directed towards the hotel subsector. The Partial Least Square was used for the processing of information. It was also used a segmentation of complex models. 109 valid questionnaires were used from the set of the previously selected regions of the Eurorregion. The scientific interest of this study is to increase the knowledge in the process of institutional change and the way in which they adopt socially responsible practices from the perspective of gender.
