#Abstract
The reflection about the degradation of the environment and environmental education are some of the many challenges facing the citizens of the 21st century. This article aims to analyze the perception of environmental education in Cape Verde, as it is seen and what has been done in that country to preserve the environment. Cape Verde has been drafting projects to preservation of the environment, with activities that looking for "educate" citizens to abusive problems of the uncontrolled use of resources. However, the effort that has been made to environmental preservation is even lower than expected. It is necessary a higher performance to correct the environmental problems, that in large part comes from the economic growth.
