#Abstract
This article gives an overview of the status of territorial management and urban planning in Galicia. First deals with the history of planning. The following is an analysis of the current challenges in the territorial management in Galicia. Recently has been adopted a regional guidelines (Directrices de Ordenación do Territorio), fifteen years after the Law of Territorial Management of Galicia. By contrast, in urban planning legislative output has been intense, with successive laws, which indicate the existence of political disagreements in the field. This work is completed with some reflections on what should be the way forward on planning and Territorial Management in Galicia.
