#Abstract
We will focus on aspects of the Portuguese Maritime Discoveries in the East, namely the miscegenation of sailors from Portugal with women from the places where the Portuguese had settled. We will analyse aspects of the sociocultural ambiences resulting from the West/East portrayed by S.Fernandes. Macao has always been a platform for miscegenation: literary characters, based on the existence of local figures, enlarged by imagination, move in hostile environments, though conducive to cultural symbiosis. The author’s experiences and ambiences unroll dramas motivated by prejudice.
