#Abstract
The article, anchored in theoretical reflections on memory1 and subjectivity2, aims to problematize questions related to the emigration/ immigration context and the profile of Portuguese emigrants/immigrants, from a typology of sources of unusual research that are the autobiographical, literary narratives and oral ones left by the subjects themselves. From this perspective, we focus here the trajectory of three immigrants who left Portugal and settled in countries of the Americas, between 1920 and 1960, whose narratives provide insight into the experience of migration processes.
