#Abstract
In 2012, occurred the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio + 20), which brought together 193 diplomatic delegations to discuss in the city of Rio de Janeiro the model of ecologically sustainable development. This article, based on a geopolitical reading of this event, reflects on the construction of this recipe "undisputed" to achieve a global socio-ecological balance, whose scope is the adjustment to the economic interests of nature through strategies for conservation of natural resources located in most of the territories of peripheral countries. In this brief report, it is possible to notice the inconsistencies, limitations and potential of the conference proposals.
