A lixivização das paisagens culturais e as sombras em Béla Tarr

Documento (.pdf)
AbstractIn a society characterized by the assertion of appearance, the presentification of the present, the banalization of consumption, change, transience, fluidity, global competitiveness and asepticism, the bleaching of landscapes appears to us as a direct consequence of all these nuances. On the opposite pole we find the shadows, beautifully revealed in the sequences of the films of director Béla Tarr. There is an intimate connection between the aesthetic dimension of the socio-ecological landscape and the political dimension, where the human condition and its ways of acting are shown deeply and truthfully. Bearing in mind the dynamics of bleaching and shadows, it is intended to verify in this article, with the case of Bom Jesus, in Braga, the possible connections between the subjective and material processes, inherent to the sustainability of the cultural heritage, and the need to overcome the virus of adiaphorization that this liquid society imposes to us at all moments. It is intended, in this work, to assess the extent to which the visible aspects and structures of this liquid society influenced the recovery of that heritage. If so, how can we present alternative views that reconcile the human with another spirituality of the place? We will present, as an alternative view, Tarr’s conception of the landscape.
