AbstractMovie reviews is a textual genre marked by a thematic content, a characteristic style and a specific compositional structure, in which, in addition to the informative nature, there is a relevant feature: evaluation of the movie. CRÍTICA CINEMATOGRÁFICA: ANÁLISE LINGUÍSTICO-TEXTUAL 433 This evaluation presupposes not only a positive or negative evaluation of this object, but also its justification, which implies the use of categories and linguistic structures appropriate for the expression of a positive or negative evaluation and its justification. To define the extent to which the analysis of textual linguistic mechanisms, especially semantic, is essential for textualization, in close correlation to the internal organization of the text, both of which are subject to the contextual conditions necessary for its reception / production, we analyzed a corpus constituted by 12 cinematographic reviews from Público in its digital edition. The analysis of the corpus has the following aims: i) to determine briefly its conditions of production and its compositional structure; ii) to analyze some of the most frequent linguistic marks for the expression of opinion on the film; iii) to verify whether the expression of positive or negative opinion on the film is made through similar or different mechanisms; and iv) to correlate the overall positive or negative value of the film with the number of stars attributed to it. The analysis of the corpus, which focused on the relevance of some linguistic elements - adjectives, verbs and nouns - in lexical cohesion, namely in determining the (positive or negative) polarity of the assessment, to establish the regularities of each group, but also their differences, on structural level in which the assessment is marked. The results of this study show that the syntactic categories considered - adjective, noun, verb - present a positive or negative evaluation, which is one of their lexical marks. However, this evaluation may overlap the evaluation compositionally attributed to the expression in which noun, verb and adjective are inserted. Thus, it was verified that the expression of positive and negative opinion is done through the same mechanisms in the two subgroups of texts that compose the corpus of analysis and that the positive or negative global polarity is, respectively, consistent with the films evaluated with 4* or 1*. It was also verified that there is an interdependence between the semantic categories that contribute to the textual configuration and the genre of text, since the linguistic marks analyzed are fundamental elements of the textualisation of the movie reviews considered, contributing to their textual cohesion. In fact, the use of these syntactic categories clearly establishes an argumentative orientation for the text, underlining the arguments offered by the speaker and that justify the evaluation of the film.
