#Abstract
This text aims to analyse the relation between Fernando Pessoa and the poetics of saudosism. Indeed, throughout Pessoa’s writings – both those published in life and those that remained unpublished in his archive – it is possible to recognise the presence of multiple references to the saudosist movement, which constitute a testimony of the complex and multifarious reception of saudosism in the writings of Fernando Pessoa. If, on the one hand, we find a critical distance from Pessoa regarding saudosim, on the other hand, we also find in the work of the Portuguese poet and thinker a revaluation of elements underlying the saudosist worldview. Thus, based in the analysis of Pessoa’s multiple references to saudosism, we intend to show how the debate about the scope and limits of the ideas underlying the saudosist poetics is a fundamental element for the construction of Pessoa’s aesthetic-poetic theorization.
