#Abstract
The goal of this text is to show the five ways the philosopher Gilles Deleuze approaches the East and, most of all, the East as a concept in itself. His first approach is related to the figures of wisdom and the wise man. His second is linked to the war machine, the nomadic thought and the form of exteriority of thought. His third approach deals with the haecceities and the impeachment of the concept of subject. His fourth is about the rhizome and the Eastern georhizomes. His fifth one addresses geophilosophy and the issue of the philosophical statute of the Eastern thought. From this five-sided perspective, the concept of The East reveals a double function: thought orienteering and suspension of any kind of dualism.
