#Abstract
In 1940 the Estado Novo celebrated the 800th anniversary of the founding of Portugal. The construction of the park Portugal of the Little Ones in Coimbra was part of the spirit of those celebrations and as such it has been the subject of several analysis centering on its connection with the Estado Novo propaganda regime. This paper does not dwell on this past, but on the present of this themed space and the relations of affection that the majority of its visitors has to this place. It will analyse the role that space, in particular the two figures of exaggeration (the miniature and the gigantic) that inhabit the park, have in this production of affect for a representation of a collective identity (the «self»): the Nation and/or Lusophony.
